HUD QUESTION OF THE MONTH: March 2011

What types of local community improvement projects should Hillsborough County spend approximately $9 million it receives annually from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD)?

The money can be spent on affordable housing, fair housing, public service, infrastructure, and community and economic development needs.

This public comment may be included in the Hillsborough County Affordable Housing Department’s Five Year Consolidated Plan for Program Years 2011-12 through 2015-16 .

  1. From the seminole heights area, it would be great to see our roads paved, we as a neighborhood, spend a significant sum of cash locally on our homes and our neighborhood. Not only would decent paved roads increase the overall moral of the area, and promote further investment in the neighborhood by residents, it would also bring a brighter look to the neighborhood, which appeals to potential home buyers, which is good for everyone.
